Dale Macdonald is the Head Coach and Owner of CrossFit to the Core. Dale found CrossFit in February 2011 at CrossFit Huntington Beach. He was 41 years old, twenty-five pounds overweight, had a high-stress career in finance, a horrible diet and was only 1 year removed from a 27-year cigarette addiction. He was definitely not the image one would conjure when they thought of "CrossFitter." Think round, red guy waiting for a heart attack. How he changed from that guy to the guy you now see in the gym is nothing short of miraculous and is definitely a story worth hearing (I'll bet his wife had something to do with it)! We are working on linking a video of his story to this bio, but for now, you'll just have to ask Dale about it the next time you see him. While he really enjoys coaching and mentoring younger (under 30) athletes, Dale's true passion is in helping "masters" athletes (40+) to "get their fit back." He preaches "baby steps" and "work at your own pace." "Slow and steady wins the race, there's no hurry...You have the rest of your life to get good at this stuff." He understands that there are vast differences in the training and recovery requirements for masters athletes versus younger athletes, and he does his best to practice what he preaches. So, if you are looking for a coach who understands what it feels like to be long passed 25 years old, be out of shape, overweight, injured, battling personal demons and now has overcome many (not all) of them AND has a passion for helping others to do the same…then Dale is the coach for you! Dale is married to his beautiful wife, and fellow coach, Kiki, and has 2 amazing daughters, Cami and Lindsay. He enjoys snow skiing, hiking, obstacle course races, adventure races, and golfing…oh and he's the singer and lead guitarist of a local rock band…and of course he loves doing all things CrossFit.

Callan was born in Greenoch, Scotland and has an older brother Chris and had a younger sister Jodie who passed away at the age of 32 due to a lifelong struggle with kidney issues. Born into a military family he moved around a bit, but spent most of his formative years in North Stonington, Connecticut. There he excelled at sports. In high school he was an all state soccer player and conference all star. He was also ranked within the top ten in the state in tennis. After high school he enrolled in the University of Maryland in Munich Germany for 2 years and spent his school breaks in Naples Italy where his father was stationed. Callan earned his AA in german studies and enrolled in the University of Washington. He eventually graduated with a B.S. in Zoology. Callan moved to Las Vegas and started out in sales and as a side job worked at a restaurant/nightclub called the Rum Jungle in the Mandalay bay. He really enjoyed the restaurant industry and bartended and managed in restaurants for ten years. In 2010, Callan moved to San Clemente to help open Hapa J's. He discovered Crossfit about 6 years ago and fell in love with the variety it offered and the quality of the workout he received. Callan started coaching in 2015 and takes great joy in seeing improvement in all the athletes.

Jon was introduced to CrossFit in 2003 and never looked back. He joined C2C in 2015 and brought a new level of toughness to the box. A military veteran and retired Federal Law Enforcement Agent, Jon used CrossFit to prepare for the rigors of his daily professional life and the adventures of his personal life. He has trained thousands of military and law enforcement personnel and incorporated CrossFit into their training evolutions in order for them to achieve and maintain peak physical fitness.
Being involved in fitness and sports (Individual, Team and Combat) his entire life, he couldn’t be more proud that his kids (Josh and Venice) are also playing sports in high school and college (Lacrosse and Baseball). Always willing to take on any adventure at the last minute, he lives the, “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready” lifestyle.

When it came to being physically active, Kiki was a late bloomer...and boy did she bloom! She started back with martial arts in 2007 and trained until she earned her black belt. She began CrossFitting and opened a gym with Dale in 2012, started climbing several local mountains, like Mt Whitney, and backpacking long-ass trails (she just completed over 1000 miles of the Pacific crest Trail). She basically tries to get outside as much as possible. Kiki loves spending time with her beautiful daughters, Cami and Lindsay. She's also insanely in love with her dog Bubba!
